Is There A Difference Between Capsules And Soft Capsules?

Capsules and soft capsules are usually different. Capsules are carriers of drugs and can generally be divided into hard capsules, soft capsules, and other types.

Hard capsules are usually made by adding a quantitative amount of medicinal herb extract to powder or excipients, making them into uniform particles or powders, and then filling them into hollow capsules, which contain relatively small doses.

The materials of hard capsules are mainly gelatin, plant cellulose, water-soluble polysaccharides, etc. They can provide protection for drugs that are sensitive to light and unstable when exposed to heat and humidity, prevent decomposition when exposed to light, are easy to swallow, have good absorption, and can be released at regular intervals.

Soft capsules, also known as capsules, are usually made by processing liquid or solid drugs and filling them into soft capsule materials.

The main material of soft capsules is usually gelatin, which contains a relatively large dosage. Soft capsules are easy to release after entering the human body and have a short duration of efficacy. They are commonly used in pharmaceuticals or health foods, and can also be made into rectal suppositories.

If necessary, it is recommended that patients choose appropriate medications for treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
